Using a Toner will dramatically change your skin in the long run. If you want to love your skin, understand why you need to use a skin Toner.
You need to tone your skin because when you wash your skin, its natural protective layer gets washed off too. It takes a while for this layer to get replaced naturally by the skin, depending upon your skin type. It is during this gap between removing the protective layer and its coming back, that the skin cries out for help because its pH is imbalanced and its acid mantle disturbed. If you don’t answer this cry of your skin with a Toner, deterioration and dehydration of the skin sets in and the ageing process is quickened.
What is the acid mantle of our skin?
Our skin has a protective layer of acidic oils on it, which we call the acid mantle.
Why isn’t washing with plain water good enough?
The water we wash with has a pH of around 7. Our skin’s pH is around 5.5. So when we Tone the skin after washing/cleansing, we immediately stop its dehydration and calm and purify the skin by balancing its pH. Moreover, there may be lingering traces of ‘cleanser residue’ left on the skin. Natural Toners skillfully pick up this residue to leave a clean, fresh skin ready for applying your moisturizer.
Aren’t Toners known to dry out the skin?
Toners with alcohol dry out the skin.Natural Tonersare alcohol-free toning fresheners that have natural nutrients with antioxidants that penetrate the skin, energize it and calm it.
What other benefits do Natural Toners have?
Natural Tonersare packed with skin nurturing ingredients that have the advantage of penetrating the skin after washing, because the skin at that point of un-ease is receptive to help from these ingredients.
How do I use the Toner?
After removing your make-up with acreamy cleanseror removing dirt and exfoliating with aface scrub, wash your face with plenty of water. Then soak your cotton wool pad in the Toner and wipe over face and neck; leaving out the eye area.
Also, freshen up the skin from time to time with the Toner, when a regular skin cleanse isn’t possible.
